28 days makes a habit

28 days makes a habit… Bullshit.  I am just going to go ahead and say that now.  I have officially run 28 days in a row and I could easily stop tomorrow.  Wouldn’t even bat an eye.  Part of the science beyond this is that 28 days is a short enough period of time to commit, ie “you can do anything for a minute” “you can commit to anything for 28 days.”  After these 28 days you should be able to continue the habit that you formed.  To form a habit, especially when it comes to changing your lifestyle, I think it takes a lot longer than 28 day.  I would say more like 90 days.  You are changing years of the current behavior, how can 28 days undo it.  How can 90 days undo it, but I feel after 3 months of work you are more likely to continue, especially if you are seeing results.

So what is keeping me going right now?  My goal.  I am going to get to my 105th day in my run streak.  I feel like I have something to prove, maybe I do… I’ll let you guys know when I think I have adopted a new habit, you have a good couple months.
