Goal Races

Up here in good ol’ Wisconsin, we are pretty much in the cold and dark for 7-8 months out of year.  I mean the yearly average temperature is 47 degrees, I hope that explains why we are in shorts and short sleeves when it reaches 60.  Heat wave!!  Now, I love the cold weather, perfect running weather to me and thankfully Wisconsin embraces it.

I started running in 2014 and was so hard into it!(like obsessive)  I have come to the conclusion that running is one of the best choices I can make in life.  It is the most effective way for me to lose weight and you can really do it anywhere.  And to really put a kibosh on any excuses I may have, I have a treadmill in the basement that is available 24/7.  I always seem to do better when there is an end goal in mind, so I am thinking about doing the Lighthouse Winter Run Series.  It is one run a month from October to March and you can either go with the 5k or 10k.  I have done this twice, 2014 and 2015,(I did not participate last year because of my pregnancy)but I think it is time for a return!

I enjoy running in the winter, and I love the sense of camaraderie you get with all the other runners out there.  I do think the running community is one the most supportive communities out there.  If you live in the Southeastern part of Wisconsin please seriously consider running the Lighthouse Winter Run Series, and meet up with me so we can cheer each other on!
